  1. Population and dissenters: I have in my Parish at present about fifty six Families, whereof Five Families are Dissenters of the Presbyterian denomination: there is no Licensed, or other Meeting=house in my Parish.

  2. Public or charity schools: There is no such school within my Parish.

  3. Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: There is no Alms house, or Hospital in my Parish. There is a Benefaction of a Field, lying in the Parish of St. Sydwells given by Ann Countess Dowager of Pembrooke, of Eight pounds clear yearly value, for ye binding out as an apprentice a poor boy or girl born & Residing in yt Parish of St Stephens at ye Nomination of ye Mayor of Exon, & recommendacion of ye Minister & Churchwardens for ye time being. There is a Legacy of Sixscore pounds left in ye Hands of ye Wardens for ye time being, ye Interest whereof is to be paid to ye Minister of ye Parish for Preaching twelve Preparacion sermons in ye year. There is another Legacy of five pounds to be lent out upon interest at ye discrection of ye wardens. There is another legacy of three pounds six shillings & eight pence to be lent out with interest to a poor Parishioner for a certain time at ye discretion of ye church wardens.

  4. Residence upon cure: My residence is in Bradninch within ye City, very near to my Parish; so that I can conveniently discharge all ye Duties of it; there is an House given to the Minister of St Stephens, but it is so mean and ordinary, that I don’t find that the Minister did ever live in it.

  5. Curate: There is no Curate to my Parish.

  6. Divine service at other churches: I have but one church to take care of.

  7. Frequency of divine service: Divine service is perform’d in my Church on Sundays both parts of ye day with a sermon Each time: Prayer days in ye week are Wednesdays & Saturdays, & all Holy days besides.

  8. Frequency of communion: The Holy Sacrament of the Lord’s supper is constantly administred once a month in my Parish church, & at Christmas, Easter, & Whitsunday besides.

  9. Number of communicants: There are ordinarily between Thirty & Forty Communicants in my Parish; but at Festival times as last Easter I believe the number was near sixty.

  10. Catechising of children: As there is a boarding school for young Ladies in my Parish, they are there instrusted in the church Catechism and I have few or none in my Parish besides that are fit for that purpose.

  11. Chapels or chapels in ruins: There is no such thing in my Parish.
